Three brand-new musicals will receive productions at the Connecticut theater.
Goodspeed Musicals has announced three new musicals that will join its 2015 season at the Norma Terris Theatre.
The first production will be the 2014 Goodspeed Festival favorite The Theory of Relativity. The show features music and lyrics by Neil Bartram and a book by Brian Hill, the Drama Desk Award-nomination team behind Broadway's The Story of My Life. Described as "A Chorus Line for Millennials," the musical introduces an array of characters whose lives are surprisingly interconnected. Performances will run from May 7-31. Hill will also direct.
My Paris, about the life and times of famed French artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, will follow with a run from July 23-August 16. The show features music and lyrics by legendary French performer Charles Aznavour, a book by Oscar, Tony, and Pulitzer Prize winner Alfred Uhry, and English lyrics and arrangements by three-time Tony winner Jason Robert Brown. Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall will direct and choreograph.
Indian Joe, featuring music and lyrics by Elizabeth A. Davis and a book by Davis and Christine Henry, will close out the season with a run from October 22-November 15. Inspired by true events, the story tells the unlikely story of a homeless Native American man and a Texas beauty queen who never should have been friends.
