The work explores the life of Civil Rights pioneer William Kunstler at 59E59 Theaters.
Broadway favorite Jeff McCarthy (Urinetown) will star in the new off-Broadway drama Kunstler by Jeffrey Sweet. Directed by Meagen Fay, the work will run February 17-March 12 at 59E59 Theaters.
McCarthy will take on title role portraying the American civil rights pioneer and attorney who directed the ACLU from 1964-72. The play is described as follows: "Tensions rise when famed attorney William Kunstler arrives on a college campus to give a seminar, but the brilliant young law student assigned to introduce him objects to his appearance. Has Kunstler finally met his match."
McCarthy will be joined by Nambi E. Kelley. The show is presented by the Creative Place International in Association with AND Theatre Company.
