There’s nothin’ like a good showmance to get you in the Valentine’s Day spirit.
Broadway's favorite couples are taking to the 54 Below stage at 9:30pm on February 13 to celebrate the glory of love and showmance in A Very Broadway Valentine’s Day. Couples set to perform at the Valentine's Day Eve event include Jeremy Jordan (Newsies; NBC's Smash) and his wife, Ashley Spencer (Rock of Ages); Santino Fontana ( Rodgers Hammerstein's Cinderella, Frozen) and his girlfriend, Jessica Hershberg (Cinderella); Drew Gehling (Jersey Boys) and his wife, Sara Jean Ford (The Phantom of the Opera); Patrick Cummings (Happiness) and his girlfriend, Alessa Neeck (Cinderella; and TheaterMania First Daters Kara Lindsay (Newsies) and her husband, Kevin Massey (Memphis).
Also scheduled to perform are Kirsten Scott (Big Fish), Thea Brooks (Dirty Dancing), and the bluegrass trio Shubert Alley, featuring Kevin Massey, his brother Patrick Massey, and Jamison Scott (Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark).
Benjamin Rauhala, musical director of 54 Below's recently acclaimed concert rendition of the fictional musical Hit List from NBC's Smash, returns to the supper club to helm the Valentine's Day celebration. Rauhala will accompany the performers on the keys along with Charlie Rosen, who will alternate on bass, acoustic guitar, and drums.
Proceeds from the concert will be donated to Hope4Gavin to support two-year-old Gavin Strand, son of Rauhala's cousins Katie and Dan Strand. Gavin was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia the day after his first birthday. He is currently in remission but continues to receive chemotherapy treatments.
