The group will kick off its residency at 54 Below.
Charlie Rosen’s Broadway Big Band will return to 54 Below on Thursday, February 5 to kick off the group's official 2015 residency at the venue. The 9:30pm concert is directed by Max Friedman.
Led by musical director/orchestrator Rosen (whose work can be heard in Broadway's Honeymoon in Vegas), the evening reimagines classic showtunes for a full-sized jazz orchestra of 17 musicians, sung by Broadway stars and Tony nominees. Rosen and Friedman produce the evening.
Set for the concert are Tony nominees Jeremy Jordan (Smash) and Daniel Breaker (The Book of Mormon), alongside Margo Seibert (Rocky), Ciara Renée (The Hunchback of Notre Dame), Nick Blaemire (Found), Hannah Elless (Godspell), Ben Fankhauser (Newsies), and Julia Mattison (Godspell).
A composer, performer, and orchestrator, Rosen has played in the bands of Broadway's 13; Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson; One Man, Two Guvnors; and Love's Labour's Lost.
