Tony Award nominee Jessie Mueller (The Mystery of Edwin Drood) and the cast members of Beautiful, a new musical charting the life and career of the Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Carole King, have arrived in San Francisco for the show’s run at the Curran Theatre. The show will move to Broadway’s Stephen Sondheim Theatre in November.
Set to run at the Curran from September 24-October 20, Beautiful features a book by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Douglas McGrath (Bullets Over Broadway), direction by Marc Bruni (The Explorers Club), and songs written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King, as well as numbers by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil.
