Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Jesus Christ Superstar will be NBC's 2018 musical broadcast, presented live on April 1, 2018, Easter Sunday.

Jesus Christ Superstar Live! will be executive-produced by Webber and Rice, with Marc Platt, Craig Zadan, and Neil Meron also on the producing roster. The production will follow in the footsteps of NBC's live The Sound of Music, Peter Pan, The Wiz, Hairspray, and the upcoming Bye, Bye Birdie.

Casting and additional information will be announced in the coming months. Jesus Christ Superstar premiered on Broadway in 1971 and was most recently revived in 2012.
