Jinkx Monsoon Breaks Her Own Single Performance Gross Record in Chicago

Jinkx Monsoon beat her highest single performance gross as she returned to the longest-running American musical on Broadway, Chicago.

The production grossed $136,597.70 for the Friday, July 5 performance, surpassing her previous highest single performance gross of $134,279.75 for the evening performance on Saturday, March 25, 2023.

Jinkx Monsoon made her Broadway debut in the role of Matron “Mama” Morton on Monday, January 16, 2023, making history by becoming the first drag queen to play the role on Broadway.

After playing Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors off-Broadway, Monsoon returned to Chicago at the Ambassador Theatre on June 27. Her final performance is on July 12.
