New York City
Matt de Rogatis will star in both plays in ”A Night of One Acts” at the Bridge Theatre.
The AlphaNYC Theatre Company together with the Engine will present A Night of One Acts at the Bridge Theatre for eight performances only, from July 14-19. The double bill will include Thomas Gibbon's The Exhibition and David Rogers' Flowers for Algernon. Joe Rosario directs.
Based on Sir Frederick Treves personal journal, The Exhibition takes a personal look at the relationship between Treves and his most famous patient, "John" Merrick, who became known to the world as the "Elephant Man." Tormented by his inner psyche, Treves wonders if he has really helped Merrick or merely continued to put him on exhibition?
In Flowers for Algernon, an adaptation of Daniel Keyes 1966 novel, Charlie Gordon, a 32-year-old intellectually disabled man, becomes the first human test subject for a surgery designed to boost his intelligence.
Matt de Rogatis will star in the roles of John Merrick and Charlie Gordon. RJ Lamb, Jim Kempner, Darlene Violette, Jordan Ferraro, Karyn Shields, and Giorgio Panetta complete the cast.
