Dylan Thomas’ classic story returns to the stage.
Two-time Tony Award winner John Cullum (Urinetown) will star in the Irish Repertory Theatre's upcoming holiday season revival of Dylan Thomas' A Child's Christmas in Wales. Adapted and directed by Irish Rep artistic leader Charlotte Moore, the production runs from November 24-January 3, with opening night set for December 1 at the DR2 Theatre.
Featuring both traditional and contemporary holiday music, A Child's Christmas in Wales is poet Thomas' imagining of a snowy Christmas Day seen through the eyes of a child. Ghost stories are whispered and cakes are gobbled up, while uncles, stuffed with pudding, snort and groan on the couch on a lazy holiday afternoon.
The full company will be announced in the coming weeks. A Child's Christmas in Wales has musical direction by Mark Harman, costume design by David Toser, and lighting design by Michael Gottlieb.
A Child's Christmas in Wales was last seen at the Irish Rep in 2011.
