Goodspeed Musicals announces casting for its new Toulouse-Lautrec musical.
Goodspeed Musicals has announced principal casting for My Paris, a new musical about the life and times of famed French artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Performances will run at the Norma Terris Theatre from July 23 through August 16.
Bobby Steggert (Mothers and Sons) will lead the cast as Henri Toulouse-Lautrec, alongside Mara Davi (Irving Berlin's White Christmas) as Suzanne Valadon, Donna English (Nice Work If You Can Get It) as Maman (Adele), and Tony winner John Glover (Love! Valour! Compassion!) as Papa (Alphonse) and Bonnat. The company will also include Greg Hildreth (Cinderella) as Anquetin/Doctor, John Riddle (The Visit) as Grenier, Paul Castree (9 to 5) as Rachou, Chad Jennings (War Horse) as Aristide Bruant, Tari Kelly (Anything Goes) as La Gouloue, Jeffrey Pew (Cinderella) as Valentin, Jermaine R. Rembert (Memphis) as Le Chocolat, Kate Marilley (Billy Elliot) as Yvette Guilbert, Shawna Hamic (The Last Ship) as Cha-u-kao/Little Henri, Wendi Bergamini (Doctor Zhivago) as May Milton, and Cameron Adams (Gigi) as Jane Avril.
My Paris features music and lyrics by French performer Charles Aznavour, with a book by Oscar, Tony, and Pulitzer Prize winner Alfred Uhry (Driving Miss Daisy), and English lyrics and musical adaptation by three-time Tony winner Jason Robert Brown (The Bridges of Madison County). Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall directs.
The creative team will also include scenic design by Derek McLane, costume design by Paul Tazewell, lighting design by Donald Holder, sound design by Jay Hilton, and music direction by David Gardos.
