Listen to an excerpt from Lithgow’s solo-show recording, which is released on June 26.
John Lithgow is the latest artist to bring his solo show to Audible, with his recent Broadway production Stories by Heart making its audio debut beginning Tuesday, June 26.
In the work, which played acclaimed runs at Lincoln Center Theater, London's National Theatre, and across the United States, and, most recently, on Broadway via Roundabout Theatre Company, Lithgow celebrates his late father, actor and director Arthur Lithgow, by performing dramatic readings of two short stories from his childhood. The Audible recording features both — The Haircut by Ring Lardner and Uncle Fred Flits By by P.G. Wodehouse — as well as an exclusive third short story, W.W. Jacobs's The Monkey's Paw.

Lithgow won Tony Awards for his work in Sweet Smell of Success and The Changing Room, and received nominations for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, M. Butterfly, and Requiem for a Heavyweight. He is the recipient of three Emmys, two SAG Awards, and a Golden Globe for his role in the sitcom Third Rock From the Sun, as well as Emmys for his work on Dexter, Amazing Stories and Netflix's The Crown.
