The former CEO of the Walt Disney Company received a warm Broadway welcome on Monday night.
The Broadway community gathered on November 18 at The New 42nd Street's annual gala to honor entertainment leader Michael D. Eisner, CEO of the Walt Disney Company from 1984-2005. Disney Theatrical Group's current president, Thomas Schumacher, Tony Award-winning Lion King director Julie Taymor, and Tarzan actor Josh Strickland attended the event to support their Disney associate.
"Michael's contribution to 42nd Street and to Broadway theater is remarkable," said Cora Cahan, president of the New 42nd Street. "The New 42nd Street is delighted that he has agreed to accept The New Victory Arts Award for his longstanding commitment to entertain, enlighten, and engage young people through the performing arts."
