The ABBA musical takes the Muny stage.
The Muny has released video and photos from its production of Mamma Mia!, running through July 28.
Directed by Dan Knechtges, the cast is led by Julia Murney (Wicked) as Donna, Ann Harada (Avenue Q) as Rosie, Jenny Powers (Grease) as Tanya, Justin Guarini (American Idol, Romeo and Juliet) as Sam Carmichael, Mike McGowan (Priscilla Queen of the Desert) as Bill Austin, Ben Nordstrom (Oklahoma!) as Harry Bright, Jason Gotay (A Bronx Tale) as Sky, and Brittany Zeinstra as Sophie.
The company also includes Alexander Aguilar, Sara Gallo, Michael Samarie George, Kate Arrington Johnson, Wonza Johnson, Sean Jones, Alex Larson, Yvette Lu, Tyler McKenzie, Jessie Peltier, Riza Takahashi, Raven Thomas, Daryl Tofa, Halli Toland, Brion Watson, and Kevin Zak, along with the Muny teen youth ensemble and the Muny/Webster Intensive participants.
The production features choreography by Jessica Hartman, music direction by Michael Horsley, scenic design is by Tim Mackabee, costume design by Leon Dobkowski, lighting design by Nathan W. Scheuer, sound design by John Shivers and David Patridge, video design by Greg Emetaz, and wig design by John Metzner.
Featuring the music of the pop band ABBA and a book by Catherine Johnson, Mamma Mia! tells the story of a young woman who attempts to discover the identity of her father as her wedding approaches. The musical opened on Broadway in 2001 and ran for 14 years.
