The event kicks off Comic Con week in New York City.
Broadway vets Justin Guarini (Moonshine: That Hee Haw Musical), Deborah Cox (Jekyll & Hyde), Alex Brightman (School of Rock), and Tony Vincent (American Idiot) will take part in Clear Channel Spectacolor’s annual Celebrity Karaoke: A Epic Evening with the Stars, set to take place October 5 at 7pm at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square.
Hosted and coproduced by Guarini, the evening kicks off New York Comic Con's New York Super Week and will gives fans the opportunity to perform with a live karaoke band alongside Broadway’s brightest stars. Performances will be judged by producers Jayne Baron Sherman, Dan Markely, and Carl Levin. One winner will receive a voice lesson with Guarini, a sit-down with the panel of Broadway producers, and a headshot session. The winning performance will be broadcast on one of Specatcolor's billboards in Times Square.
A portion of the proceeds from the evening will benefit Random Acts Org, a U.S.-based, global nonprofit that strives to conquer the world, one random act of kindness at a time. The organization inspires individuals and groups to come together and help improve the overall well-being of their communities. Random Acts will use this opportunity to benefit Community Soup Kitchen and Outreach Center and will accept non-perishable food donations at Celebrity Karaoke.
