Manhattan Theatre Club announced complete casting for the world premiere of Donald Margulies’ play.
Manhattan Theatre Club has announced full casting for the world premiere coproduction of Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies' The Country House. The production will be staged at Broadway's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan. Previews will begin September 9 with an opening set for October 2. The Country House is produced in association with the Geffen Playhouse.
The cast members who will join the previously announced Tony and Emmy Award winner Blythe Danner include Kate Jennings Grant (The Lyons), Eric Lange (FX's The Bridge), David Rasche (To Be or Not to Be), Sarah Steele (LCT's Slowgirl), and Tony nominee Daniel Sunjata (Macbeth).
The Country House follows Anna Patterson (Danner), the matriarch of a family of artists whose annual summer gathering during the Williamstown Theatre Festival exposes the jealousies within her clan. The weekend's unexpected turn incites romantic outbursts, soul-searching, and more. The play received a world premiere coproduction by Geffen Playhouse and Manhattan Theatre Club at Geffen Playhouse on June 3.
