Tony Award-nominated actress Kerry Butler (Gore Vidal's The Best Man) is officially set to take on the role of Hillary Rodham Clinton in Clinton The Musical when the show makes its official off-Broadway premiere at New World Stages this spring. With performances scheduled to begin on March 26, opening night will take place on April 9. Tony-nominated director Dan Knechtges (Lysistrata Jones) helms the production.

Clinton The Musical follows Bill and Hillary Clinton on their quest to save the presidency after a major scandal. The satirical production premiered at the New York Musical Theatre Festival and has since been further developed. Kari Lynn Hearn of CoolChic Productions and Executive Producer Ken Davenport produce.

The creative team for Clinton The Musical includes Tony winner Beowulf Boritt (scenic design), David Woolard (costume design), and Peter Fitzgerald (sound design).

Additional casting for the production will be announced soon. A recent reading starred Butler along with Alan Campbell as W.J. Clinton and Duke LaFoon as Billy Clinton.
