Kline will lead Nöel Coward’s comedy at the St. James Theatre.
Oscar and Tony winner Kevin Kline will make his long-awaited Broadway return this spring in a revival of Noël Coward's Present Laughter. The comedy will be directed by Hand to God Tony nominee Moritz von Steulpnagel and presented at the St. James Theatre. Opening night is set for April 5.
Noël Coward's 1939 comedy follows the life of the successful, self-obsessed actor Garry Essendine as he prepares to travel for a touring commitment in Africa. It was last seen on Broadway in a 2010 Roundabout Theatre Comapny revival starring Victor Garber. This mounting will be produced by Jordan Roth and Jujamcyn Theatres.
Kline won Tonys for his performances in On the Twentieth Century and The Pirates of Penzance. He received an Oscar for his work in the film A Fish Called Wanda. His last Broadway appearance was in a 2007 revival of Cyrano de Bergerac.
