Soul Doctor, the new Broadway musical about the life of Jewish folk singer Shlomo Carlebach, celebrated its opening night at the Circle in the Square Theatre on Thursday, August 15. Following the performance, the cast, led by Eric Anderson (Shlomo), Amber Iman (Nina Simone), and Zarah Mahler (Ruth), and the creative team headed to the Liberty Theater to toast the production. They were joined by Neshama Carlebach, the real-life daughter of the now-deceased Shlomo.
