Karen Pittman stars in the world-premiere play by Fernanda Coppel.
The world-premiere production of Fernanda Coppel's King Liz has announced a one-week extension at Second Stage Uptown's McGinn/Cazale Theatre. The show began performances July 13 in advance of a July 27 opening. The production will now run through August 15.
Directed by Lisa Peterson, King Liz centers on Liz Rico, a high-powered sports agent in a male-dominated industry who wants to take over the agency she's helped build. When troubled high school basketball star Freddie Luna enters the picture, Liz is tasked with keeping him in line, a job that might end up making both of their careers. But at what price?
The production features recent Disgraced star Karen Pittman (Liz Rico), Jeremie Harris (Freddie Luna), Michael Cullen (Mr. Candy), Russell G. Jones (Coach Jones), Caroline Lagerfelt (Barbara Flowers), and Irene Sofia Lucio (Gabby Fuentes).
