The actor joins a cast that includes Samantha Barks, Steve Kazee, Orfeh, Jason Danieley, and Eric Anderson.
Kingsley Leggs (The Color Purple, Miss Saigon) will play James Morse in the new Broadway-bound Pretty Woman: The Musical, producers announced, joining previously announced cast members Samantha Barks (Vivian), Steve Kazee (Edward), Orfeh (Kit), Jason Danieley (Philip Stuckey), and Eric Anderson (Mr. Thompson). Directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell, the production will begin performances on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, for a five-week engagement at Chicago's Oriental Theatre.
With an original score by Grammy winner Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, the musical features a book by Garry Marshall and the film's screenwriter, J.F. Lawton. The production will feature scenic design by David Rockwell, costume design by Gregg Barnes, lighting design by Kenneth Posner and Philip S. Rosenberg, sound design by John Shivers, hair design by Josh Marquette, and music supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations by Will Van Dyke.
Following its run in Chicago, Pretty Woman: The Musical will open on Broadway in fall 2018 at a Nederlander theater to be announced. Paula Wagner, Nice Productions, LPO, New Regency Productions, Roy Furman, James L. Nederlander, Caiola Productions, Hunter Arnold, Stage Entertainment, and the John Gore Organization serve as producers.
