The Pentatonix member celebrates the Tony-winning musical’s fifth anniversary.
Grammy Award winner Kirstin Maldonado, of the hit a cappella group Pentatonix, has extended her run as Lauren in the Broadway production of Kinky Boots. She began her run at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on February 2 and will stay through May 3, beyond her previously announced end date of April 8. American Idol winner David Cook, who began performances as Charlie Price on April 3, will play a limited run through May 5, and Wayne Brady, who returns to the role of Lola, will play a limited run through April 26.
Kinky Boots, which today celebrates its five-year Broadway anniversary, tells the uplifting and heartwarming tale of Charlie Price, a young man reluctantly taking over his family's struggling shoe factory and looking for a fresh idea. Charlie meets and finds inspiration in Lola and together, they discover that it takes a good friend to make a great pair.
Winner of six 2013 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Kinky Boots features a Tony Award-winning score by Cyndi Lauper, a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein, and direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell.
