Love, sex, and marriage take center stage in the new adult comedy at New Jersey Repertory Company.
Following its current production of Swimming at the Ritz, New Jersey Repertory Company will present the world premiere of The M Spot, written by L.A. Law star Michael Tucker and directed by Evan Bergman.
The play is described as follows:
"Jerry and Maddie have been married — forever — and are looking for something to recapture the former vitality of their marriage. They've been through the mill when it comes to therapists and well-meaning advice, so when the opportunity arises for them to go on a retreat to a new-age spa, complete with nude massages, Jerry is all for it. Maddie, on the other hand, is a bit more reserved, and is naturally skeptical about the process and her husband’s motives. But when Maddie finally let’s go of her inhibitions with the aid of a lovely young masseuse, Jerry is left scratching his head wondering what he missed."
The cast will star Tucker and Jill Eikenberry (L.A. Law) as the husband-and-wife pair, with Carey Van Driest in the role of Star. The creative teams will feature set design and props by Jessica Parks, lighting design by Jill Nagle, sound design by Merek Royce Press, and costume design by Maria Hooper.
Performances are scheduled to run from February 26-March 29.
