La MaMa is set to present Poor Baby Bree in I am Going to Run Away, April 13-29 at The Club at La MaMa. David Schweizer will direct, and musical direction will be by Franklin Bruno.
Bree Benton will star as archetypal waif Poor Baby Bree in her one-woman musical. With a book by Bree Benton the musical features fifteen archival songs from the golden age of vaudeville.
Benton has been performing as Poor Baby Bree since 2005. Her first one-woman show as Poor Baby Bree was Weary River.
