The musical heads around the country in its second season.
New casting has been announced for Roundabout Theatre Company’s national tour of Sam Mendes and Rob Marshall’s Tony Award-winning production of Cabaret.
Leigh Ann Larkin will take on the role of Sally Bowles beginning Tuesday, Feb. 7, with Jon Peterson joining the company as the Emcee beginning Tuesday, Feb 21.The cast also includes Benjamin Eakeley as Clifford Bradshaw, Alison Ewing as Fräulein Kost, Mary Gordon Murray as Fräulein Schneider, Scott Robertson as Herr Schultz, and Patrick Vaill as Ernst Ludwig.
Featured in the ensemble are Kelsey Beckert, Sarah Bishop, Chelsey Clark, Jenna Zito Clark, Ryan DeNardo, Lori Eure, Kendal Hartse, Andrew Hubacher, Joey Khoury, Chris Kotera, Tommy McDowell, Laura Sheehy, Steven Wenslawski, Bob Amaral, and Lucy Sorlucco. The Kit Kat Band is under the direction of conductor Robert Cookman and also features Alec Bart (Associate Music Director/keyboard), Bobby Brennen (bass), Preston Haining (trumpet) and Taurus Lovely (drums).
The show's 2017 tour stops will include the Princess of Whales Theatre in Toronto (February 14-February 19), the Fox Twin Cities Performing Arts Center in Appleton, Wisconsin (February 28-March 5), the Proctors Theatre in Schenectady, New York (May 9-May 14), the Center for the Performing Arts in San Jose, California (June 6-June 11), and Keller Auditorium in Portland, Oregon (June 27-July 2).
The creative team for the North American tour includes original direction by Sam Mendes, original codirection and choreography by Rob Marshall, tour direction recreated by BT McNicholl, tour choreography re-created by Cynthia Onrubia, set design by Robert Brill, costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting design by Peggy Eisenhauer and Mike Baldassari, sound design by Keith Caggiano based on the original Broadway design by Brian Ronan, and hair and wig design by Paul Huntley. Music direction is by Robert Cookman.
