Hall covers songs from the White Stripes and White’s solo albums in her seventh installment of ”Obsessed”.
SKB Records has announced that pop-punk star Jack White will be the subject of Lena Hall's seventh Obsessed EP, released in digital and streaming formats on Friday, July 6, and available for preorder today. Customers that preorder the EP will immediately receive a download of the first single, "Fell in Love With a Girl," the breakthrough hit from the White Stripes's 2001 international chart-topping album, White Blood Cells.
Obsessed will ultimately consist of 12 EPs, each released on the first Friday of every month. Performance music videos have been created for all 54 songs in the series, and a new music video will premiere every week in 2018. Previous releases in Hall's Obsessed series have focused on Radiohead, P!nk, the Cranberries, Elton John, Peter Gabriel, and Hedwig and the Angry Inch, in which she gave her breakout, Tony-winning performance as Yitzhak in the musical's 2014 Broadway revival.
In addition to "Fell in Love With a Girl," Obsessed: Jack White will include covers of "Blunderbuss," the title track from White's first solo album from 2012; "Would You Fight for My Love?," originally recorded on White's second solo album Lazaretto in 2014; and "Love Interruption," also selected from Blunderbuss.
