Tony Award winner Lillias White (Fela!) will star in a reading of the new musical Harriet, a bio-show about the life of Harriet Tubman, which is set to be presented July 16 and 20 as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival. The musical is written by the sibling team of Colette Call Lofgren (composer/lyricist/co-librettist) and J. Michael Call (co-librettist).

Directed by Lee Summers, with musical direction by Michael O. Mitchell, Harriet examines the life of Harriet Tubman, the abolitionist leader who helped rescue slave families during the Civil War via the Underground Railroad.

Joining White in the reading are Amber Iman, Capathia Jenkins, Raun Ruffin, Aisha de Haas, Charles E. Wallace, Jennifer Babiak, Alan H. Green, Darius Kaleb, Harriet D. Foy, Connie Pachi, Gary Sorenson, Jared Young, Shira Averbach, Eden Duncan-Smith, and Reed Armstrong.

Harriet will be presented in The Studio Theatre at Theatre Row.
