The Public Theater will present free performances of ”The Tempest” and ”Cymbeline” at Central Park’s Delacorte Theater.
Shakespeare in the Park veterans Lily Rabe (American Horror Story: Coven), Hamish Linklater (Posterity), and Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family) will return to the Delacorte Theater in Central Park this summer to take on roles in the Public Theater's free productions of Cymbeline and The Tempest.
Rabe and Linklater, who starred last year in Much Ado About Nothing, will team up once again in Daniel Sullivan's production of Cymbeline, running from July 23-August 23. Rabe will play Imogen, and Linklater will play Posthumus Leonatus and Cloten. Further casting for the production will be announced.
Ferguson, last seen in The Comedy of Errors, will play Trinculo to Sam Waterston's Prospero in Michael Greif's production of The Tempest. Running from May 27-July 5, the play will also feature Francesca Carpanini as Miranda, Louis Cancelmi as Caliban, Chris Perfetti as Ariel, Whitney Bashor as Juno, Olga Karmansky as Iris, Tamika Lawrence as Ceres, Danny Mastrogiorgio as Stephano, Charles Parnell as Alonso, Rodney Richardson as Ferdinand, Cotter Smith as Antonio, and Bernard White as Gonzalo. The non-equity ensemble includes Jordan Barrow, Chloe Fox, Thomas Gibbons, Sunny Hitt, Brandon Kalm, Rico Lebron, Suki Lopez, and Matthew Oaks.
The Tempest will feature scenic design by Riccardo Hernandez, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by David Lander, sound design by Acme Sound Partners, soundscape by Matt Tierney, original music by Michael Friedman, and choreography by Denis Jones.
