Cast members from the Broadway production of Disney’s The Lion King will perform numbers from the show at a White House State Dinner on Monday, September 15.

The event, to be hosted by President and Mrs. Bush, will honor Ghana’s President John Kufuor and Mrs. Theresa Kufuor.

Stars Tshidi Manye (Rafiki), Dashaun Young (Simba), and Kissy Simmons (Nala) will lead the 11-member ensemble in six numbers, including “One by One,” “Shadowland,” “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” “Endless Night,” “He Lives in You,” and “Circle of Life” with “Nants’ Ingonyama.”

The Tony Award-winning musical is adapted from Disney’s popular animated movie of the same name. The Broadway production, directed by Julie Taymor, is housed at the Minskoff Theatre.
