The Dramatists Guild Fund outreach program adds seven artists to its ranks.
Dramatists Guild Fund president Andrew Lippa and executive director Rachel Routh have announced seven artists to join the Traveling Masters Program. Participants will enter communities across the country to offer writing workshops, master classes, talkbacks, and other public events.
Lynn Ahrens, Stephen Flaherty, Anna Ziegler, Terrence McNally, Lauren Yee, Paula Vogel, and Chisa Hutchinson make up the new roster. In partnership with leading regional theaters and universities, the Dramatists Guild Fund creates local programming that gives students, theater professionals, and the public first-hand experience with renowned artists.
DGF sent Madeleine George (The (curious case of the) Watson Intelligence) to Charleston, South Carolina, in early February as the first Traveling Master of 2016. Through the program, George worked with student writers and shared insights into her creative process during the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.
