Jen Silverman’s two-person comedy opens this fall at the Boston theater.
Lyric Stage Company has announced the cast and creative team for its upcoming production of Jen Silverman's The Roommate. Spiro Veloudos directs the two-hander, scheduled to run from October 19-November 18.
The Roommate is described as follows: "Sharon, middle-aged and recently divorced, needs a roommate to share her Iowa home. Robyn needs a place to hide and a chance to start over. But as Sharon begins to uncover Robyn's secrets while sharing music, books, and an occasional toke, she discovers a deep-seated desire to transform her own life completely." Adrianne Krstansky and Paula Plum will costar as Robyn and Sharon, respectively.
The creative team includes scenic design by Jenna McFarland Lord, costume design by Tobi Rinaldi, lighting design by Chris Hudacs, and sound design and original music by Dewey Dellay. Diane McLean will serve as production stage manager alongside assistant stage manager Geena M. Forristall.
The Roommate had its world premiere at the Actors Theatre of Louisville Humana Festival, followed by regional productions at South Coast Repertory, the San Francisco Playhouse, Williamstown Theatre Festival, and Steppenwolf Theatre.
