The organization will pay tribute to the Oscar and Drama Desk winner at its annual gala.
Oscar and Drama Desk winner Marisa Tomei (My Cousin Vinny) will be honored by MCC Theater at its annual Miscast gala, to be held Monday, April 4, at the Hammerstein Ballroom.
Tomei performed at MCC in its inaugural season production of Alan Bowne's Beirut. In a statement, she said, "My experience with MCC has guided me ever since. The relationships I made, the knowledge I gained – so much of that is still a part of my life today. I am thrilled to be honored at the Miscast Gala and play a role in this celebratory night supporting the essential work that defines MCC Theater."
On-screen, Tomei is known for films including The Ides of March and Crazy Stupid Love, as well as My Cousin Vinny, for which she won an Oscar. On Broadway, Tomei has appeared in Wait Until Dark, Salome, Top Girls, and most recently, Will Eno's The Realistic Joneses, for which she won a Drama Desk Award.
