The production, originally scheduled for the New Jersey theater’s 2012-13 season, will receive its world premiere this November.
Emmy, Golden Globe, and Grammy Award winner Marlo Thomas has signed on to join the cast of Clever Little Lies at New Brunswick, New Jersey's George Street Playhouse for the second time. Originally slated to run during the theater's 2012-13 season with Thomas headlining the cast, the world premiere production is now scheduled to run from November 19-December 22. George Street Playhouse Artistic Director David Saint will direct the show, written by Tony Award winner Joe DiPietro (Nice Work If You Can Get It, Memphis).
"After postponing this play last season, I am thrilled that Marlo will return to George Street for her third appearance on our stage, in a world premiere by the wonderful Joe DiPietro," said Saint. "They are both remarkable artists and I look forward to welcoming them here once again."
Thomas whose credits include the Broadway productions of Relatively Speaking and Social Security, as well as the TV movie Nobody's Child and the TV series That Girl will play a mother whose persistent snooping into her son's life leads to the discovery of an unexpected family secret. Additional casting for the production will be announced at a later date.
