The production will play the Access Theater Gallery Space.
Sex of the Baby, a new play by Matthew-Lee Erlbach, will make its off-Broadway debut at the Access Theater Gallery Space, with a run from September 9-27.
Erlbach's most recent writing and acting credit is his solo play Handbook for an American Revolutionary, which premiered off-Broadway at the Gym at Judson. He also penned Eager to Lose, a Burlesque Farce in Rhyming Verse, which extended off-Broadway at Ars Nova, and the indie film, The Passing Season, cowritten with Gabe Long.
Directed by Michelle Bossy, Sex of the Baby is a dark comedy-drama that follows a disaffected New York couple searching for a surrogate. Along the way, they are confronted with the collision of raw sexual desire, emotional politics, and the cruel and inelegant reality of love and betrayal.
The cast will feature Erlbach, along with Marinda Anderson (Macbeth), Korey Jackson (Far From Heaven), and Devin Norik (City Of). Additional casting will be announced at a later date.
