Maya Angelou Bio-Play Being Developed for Broadway

Deadline reports that a new solo show exploring the life of poet Maya Angelou is being developed, with its eyes set on Broadway in 2021.

Titled Phenomenal Woman: An Evening With Maya Angelou, the piece will draw from Angelou's writings, with the rights secured through her estate. David Michael Rich of Corstoria, LLC, and J. Todd Harris of Branded Pictures Entertainment, are serving as producers, with the support of Angelou's son, Guy Johnson.
