The cast of Kenny Leon's upcoming Broadway revival of Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun met the press on Tuesday, February 18.
Tony and Oscar winner Denzel Washington returns to the stage to take on the iconic role of Walter Lee Younger, a part that has been previously played on Broadway by Sidney Poitier and Sean Combs.
Anika Noni Rose, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, and Sophie Okonedo play Beneatha, Lena, and Ruth Younger, respectively.
The company of A Raisin in the Sun includes Stephen McKinley Henderson, Sean Patrick Thomas, David Cromer, Anika Noni Rose, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Denzel Washington, Bryce Clyde Jenkins, Sophie Okonedo, and Jason Dirden.
The production will play the Ethel Barrymore Theatre beginning March 8, with opening night set for April 3.
