Jake Gyllenhaal and Ruth Wilson, the stars of Nick Payne's Constellations, met the press at their Manhattan Theatre Club rehearsal studio on November 18. The actors make their Broadway debuts in the two-character drama, which begins performances at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on December 16 before a January 13 opening. Michael Longhurst directs the play, a coproduction of MTC and London's Royal Court Theatre.

Constellations explores the relationship between Roland (Gyllenhaal), a beekeeper, and Marianne (Wilson), a quantum physicist, through the concept of the multiverse theory, where several scenarios can coexist at the same time. The work premiered at the Royal Court in 2012, before moving to the West End's Duke of York's Theatre later that year.
