A preliminary lineup of performers has been announced for the Westport Country Playhouse’s gala, Playing Our Songs: Celebrating 80 Years of Musical Theater, to be held on Monday, September 19. Joshua Rhodes will direct and serve as co-choreographer, with Lorin Latarro. Mary-Mitchell Campbell will serve as music director.
The event will feature a retrospective of the musicals seen at the Playhouse stage since its founding in 1931.
Among the artists scheduled to perform are Tituss Burgess, Melissa Errico, Shuler Hensley, Dirk Lumbard, Neil McCaffrey, Jessica Patty, Andrew Rannells, Max Von Essen, and Karen Ziemba. The ensemble will include Lisa Gadja, Shannon Lewis, Matthew Loehr, Patrick McCollum, Kevin Munhall, Kat Nejat, Sarah O’Gleby and Anthony Wayne.
As previously announced, the event will also feature Mary Tyler Moore presenting the Distinguished Dedication and Service to the American Musical Theater Award at to Bernadette Peters.
