Bay Street Theater will offer two outdoor performances of the Cole Porter classic.
Bay Street Theater will present a concert production of the iconic Cole Porter musical Kiss Me, Kate on August 25 and 26 at 7pm. The performances will be held in Mashashimuet Park as part of the Bay Street Under the Stars series.
The concert reading will feature a cast of 14, led by Tony nominee Melissa Errico and Metropolitan Opera star Richard Troxell. The company will also include Malik Alik, Al Bundonis, Nick Cearley, Megan LaFlam, Steve Rattazzi, Ryann Redmond, John Shuman, Britton Smith, Erica Sweany, Cecelia Ticktin, David F. M. Vaughn, and Aaron Young.
Featuring a score by Cole Porter and a book by Samuel and Bella Spewack, Kiss Me, Kate tells the story of two larger-than-life actors, Lilli Vanessi and Frederick C. Graham, battling in life and love during a production of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew.
Bay Street Theater's associate artistic director Will Pomerantz will direct, with musical direction by James Bassi. Entry to the concert is free and no tickets are required.
