Principal casting has been announced for the movie version of Ronald Harwood’s play Quartet, according to a report in The Hollywood Reporter. Stage and screen star Dustin Hoffman will direct the project.
The film will focus on a group of people living at a home for retired opera singers as they prepare their annual fundraising concert and find that the arrival of a new resident upsets their plans.
The cast will feature stage veterans Billy Connolly, Pauline Collins, Tom Courtenay, Michael Gambon, Maggie Smith, and Sheridan Smith.
