Michael Urie to Star in Shakespeare's Richard II for Red Bull Theater

Red Bull Theater will kick off the 2025-26 season with Michael Urie (Shrinking) in a new version of Shakespeare’s Richard II.

Adapted and directed by Craig Baldwin, the event will run for three performances only, from September 27-28, at Sheen Center’s Loreto Theater.

In this one-man reimagining of Richard II, Shakespeare’s play is stripped to its core with one actor embodying every ambition, betrayal, and fall from grace.

A long-time artistic associate of Red Bull Theater, Urie has performed in numerous Revelation Readings and off-Broadway productions, including The Government Inspector in 2017.
