The Emmy nominee received a portrait for the restaurant’s famed walls.
Five-time Emmy Award nominee Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family) received a Sardi's portrait on May 19 in honor of his Broadway return in Becky Mode's Fully Committed.
Fully Committed follows a day in the life of Sam, a reservation-line receptionist at one of New York's trendiest restaurants. The play, inspired by characters Mode created with Mark Setlock (who originated the role), was first presented at the Vineyard Theatre in 1999, transferring to the Cherry Lane Theatre and running for nearly 700 performances. As the show's only actor, Ferguson plays more than 40 characters.
Under the direction of Jason Moore, Fully Committed began performances on Friday, April 1, and opened Monday, April 25. The limited engagement runs through July 24. This marks Ferguson's return to Broadway for the first time since originating the role of Leaf Coneybear in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee in 2005.
