Nathan Lane to Roll the Dice Again in Carnegie Hall’s Guys and Dolls Concert

Two-time Tony Award winner Nathan Lane will reprise his Tony Award-nominated performance as Nathan Detroit in Carnegie Hall‘s one-night concert of the Frank Loesser classic Guys and Dolls. Lane starred in the 1992 revival of Guys and Dolls, for which he received praise for his portrayal of Nathan Detroit.

Joining Lane is Emmy Award winner Megan Mullally (Young Frankenstein) as Miss Adelaide. Tony Award nominee Patrick Wilson (The Full Monty) will portray Sky Masterson alongside Sierra Boggess (The Little Mermaid) as Sarah Brown. Remaining cast members will be announced at a later date.

The concert will take place on April 3, 2014, in the Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, and will be directed by three-time Tony Award-winning director Jack O’Brien (Macbeth). Rob Fisher will act as music director, conducting the Orchestra of St. Luke’s. The concert production will feature choreography by Joshua Bergasse (Smash), lighting design by Alan Adelman, and sound design by Nevin Steinberg.

Featuring music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, Guys and Dolls has become an American classic. Based on short stories and paintings by Damon Runyon, the musical paints a picture of New York City in the 1930s and ’40s, following gamblers Sky Masterson and Nathan Detroit, missionary Sarah Brown, and nightclub dancer Miss Adelaide. Guys and Dolls was last revived on Broadway in 2009.
