National Tour of Bullets Over Broadway Announces Casting

Casting has been announced for the upcoming national tour of Bullets Over Broadway.

The production will star Michael Williams as David Shayne, Emma Stratton as Helen Sinclair, Jeffrey Brooks as Cheech, Bradley Allan Zarr as Warner Purcell, Michael Corvino as Nick Valenti, Hannah Deflumeri as Ellen, Rick Grossman as Julian Marx, Jemma Jane as Olive Neal, and Rachel Bahler as Eden Brent.

The ensemble includes Blaire Baker, Mary Callahan, Jake Corcoran, Elizabeth Dugas, Carissa Fiorillo, Patrick Graver, Andrew Hendrick, Lainee Hunter, Justin Jutras, Brian Thomas Martin, Conor McGiffin, Andrew Metzgar, Corinne Munsch, Kaylee Olson, Joey Ortolani, Kelly Peterson, Lexie Plath, and Ian Saunders.

Based on the 1994 film by Woody Allen and Douglas McGrath, the musical opened at the St. James Theatre on Broadway on April 10, 2014, where it played 156 performances. The production, which earned six Tony nominations, featured a score of old standards including "Tain’t Nobody's Biz-ness If I Do," "Let’s Misbehave," "I’m Sitting on Top of the World," and "Runnin’ Wild," with a book by Woody Allen and original direction and choreography by Susan Stroman. Jeff Whiting will direct the touring production. Clare Cook will re-create Stroman's choreography.

The creative team also includes Jason Ardizzone-West (scenic design), Carolyn Wong (lighting design, based on the original Broadway lighting design by Donald Holder), Shannon Slaton (sound design), Bernie Ardia (wig and hair design), and six-time Tony William Ivey Long’s original Drama Desk Award-winning Broadway costumes.

The tour kicks off at Cleveland's Playhouse Square Center on October 6. Bullets Over Broadway will travel to over 25 cities in its first season including Los Angeles (Hollywood Pantages Theatre), Philadelphia (Academy of Music), Seattle (Paramount Theatre), St. Paul, Minnesota (The Ordway), Memphis, Tennessee (Orpheum Theatre), Peoria, Illinois (Peoria Civic Center), Providence, Rhode Island (Providence Performing Arts Center), West Palm Beach, Florida (Kravis Center), and Dayton, Ohio (Schuster Center).
