The Rockettes return for their second season of warm-weather performances.
MSG Entertainment has announced that the New York Spring Spectacular will return to Radio City Music Hall in 2016 for its second season. The production will offer 75 performances from June 15-August 7, 2016.
The New York Spring Spectacular, starring the iconic Rockettes, debuted in 2015 with Tony Award winner Laura Benanti and Derek Hough as two of its featured performers. According to press materials, the production will adjust its name to coincide with the time of year. The show is described as "a love letter to New York City, celebrating the energy, places, passion and promise that make New York spectacular."
"Coming off a successful inaugural run of New York Spring Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall, which was embraced by both New Yorkers and visitors alike, we have decided to shift the timing of the production to the summer," said David O'Connor, president and CEO of the Madison
Square Garden Company. "During the summer months, New York City sees a significant increase in tourism and shifting the production will provide an opportunity for even more people to experience this dazzling musical celebration starring the Rockettes."
Cast and creative team information will be announced in the coming months.
