Pageant — The Musical has announced that Jay Records will record and release a cast album for the production. This first-ever cast recording of the musical will be released in October.
Pageant is written by Bill Russell and Frank Kelly, with music by Albert Evans and concept by Robert Longbottom. The musical, which began performances on June 29, officially opened at the Davenport Theatre on July 14. This new production is directed by Matt Lenz, with choreography by Shea Sullivan and music direction by Mark Hartman.
In Pageant, unlike some beauty pageants, the female contestants are all played by men. The cast features Nick Cearley, Nic Cory, Alex Ringler, Marty Thomas, Seth Tucker, and Curtis Wiley, with John Bolton as the host.
The show's design includes costumes by Stephen Yearick, scenic design by Paul DePoo, lighting by Paul Miller, and sound by David Sanderson.
