Olney Theatre Center has announced that it will kick off its 2015-2016 season with Noël Coward’s Hay Fever, set to run September 2-September 27 on the mainstage. Artistic Associate Eleanor Holdridge will direct.
In Hay Fever, David Bliss, a novelist hoping for a quiet weekend in the country with some guests and his wife Judith, finds that's an impossible dream when their high-spirited children Simon and Sorel appear with guests of their own.
The cast of Hay Fever includes Olney veteran and Artistic Associate Valerie Leonard as Judith and Matt Sullivan as David, with Chris Dinolfo and Audrey Bertaux as the pair's children. The Bliss’ weekend guests include Artistic Associate Jon Hudson Odom in the role of Sandy, Artistic Associates Michael Russotto and Susan Lynskey as Richard and Jackie respectively, Beth Hylton in the role of Myra, and Carol Randolph in the role of Clara.
The production's design team will feature scenic designer John Coyne, lighting designer Nancy Schertler, costume designer Kendra Rai, and sound designer Christopher Baine.
Director Eleanor Holdridge helmed the Helen Hayes Award-Nominated production of I and You, featured on the cover of American Theatre Magazine, at Olney Theatre Center in 2014. She has also directed locally at Theatre J, Constellation Theatre, Round House Theatre, Folger Theatre, and Everyman Theatre.
