The annual gala for the organization Only Make Believe was held Monday, November 9, at Broadway's St. James Theatre. The evening, hosted by Aladdin Tony winner James Monroe Iglehart, honored Tony winner Alan Cumming (The Good Wife) and Morgan Stanley chief legal officer Eric Grossman.
Only Make Believe is a nonprofit organization that creates and performs interactive theater for children in hospitals and care facilities. They are dedicated to the principle that freeing a child's imagination is a valuable part of the healing process. Only Make Believe creates and performs interactive theater for children in hospitals and care facilities throughout New York City and Washington, D.C. It has served over 35,000 children since 1999 and has performed in over 55 hospitals and care facilities in the NYC and DC Metro areas.
Only Make Believe is a project of the James and Dena Hammerstein Foundation. Dena Hammerstein established the organization in memory of her husband, James, his dedication to the theater, and her own passionate love for children in need.
