Daphne Rubin-Vega will also appear in the new Off-Broadway play from Quiara Alegría Hudes.
SAG Award winner Samira Wiley (Orange Is the New Black) and Tony nominee Daphne Rubin-Vega (Rent) will be seen in Daphne’s Dive, a new play by Pulitzer Prize winner Quiara Alegría Hudes. Directed by Thomas Kail (Hamilton), the production will run April 26-June 5 at the Pershing Square Signature Center.
Daphne’s Dive is a cheap corner bar in North Philly where Daphne and her vibrant, eclectic regulars drink to art, politics, and life. As Daphne's adopted daughter, very different from her reserved and pragmatic mother, grows up, this unconventional family is forced to confront who's an insider, who's an outsider, and the challenge of opening your heart to strangers.
Joining Wiley and Rubin-Vega are Vanessa Aspillaga (Domesticated), Carlos Gomes (The Glades), K.K. Moggie (Mercy), Matthew Saldivar (Act One), and Tony nominee Gordon Joseph Weiss (Fool for Love). The design team includes Donyale Werle (scenic design), Toni-Leslie James (costume design), Betsy Adams (lighting design), Nevin Steinberg (sound design) and Michel Camilo composer).
