Benson is set to re-create her leading role.
The upcoming Hollywood Bowl concert production of Disney's The Little Mermaid has added a third performance, set for Monday, June 6 in Los Angeles. The show will feature Jodi Benson, the original voice of Ariel, returning to her iconic role.
The June 6 concert will also feature a host of other Disney originals — Susan Egan (Meg in Hercules) and Brad Kane (the singing voice of Aladdin) — as special guest stars.
As previously announced, The Little Mermaid will also be performed on June 3 and 4, with a 71-piece orchestra and 12-person choir led by Michael Kosarin. The company for these shows will be led by Sara Bareilles as Ariel, alongside Rebel Wilson as Ursula, the sea witch, John Stamos as Chef Louis, Tituss Burgess as Sebastian (the role he originated on Broadway), Darren Criss as Prince Eric, Tony nominee Norm Lewis as King Triton (the role he originated on Broadway), and Joshua Colley as Flounder. In addition to the film's full score, the concert will also feature numbers from the 2007 Broadway production, including the song "Her Voice," sung by Prince Eric (Criss).
