The play’s stars joined Screenvision and BroadwayHD on the Chelsea Cinemas red carpet.
Orlando Bloom and Condola Rashad ended their run in Broadway's Romeo and Juliet when the play closed at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in December, but audiences will still have a chance to take in the Shakespeare classic via the big screen. Screenvision and BroadwayHD have teamed up to bring Romeo and Juliet to movie theaters nationwide from February 13-19.
The recent Broadway revival was directed by David Leveaux. In addition to Bloom and Rashad, the production featured Brent Carver as Friar Laurence, Jayne Houdyshell as Juliet's Nurse, Chuck Cooper as Lord Capulet, Christian Camargo as Mercutio, Roslyn Ruff as Lady Capulet, Conrad Kemp as Benvolio, Justin Guarini as Paris, Corey Hawkins as Tybalt, and Geoffrey Owens as Prince Escalus.
